I love drinking tea but I don't think I've ever been to a tea party. Fine china, delicate flowers, dainty feminine fashion, delicious baked goods and a warm cup of tea on a quiet afternoon -- the idea alone seems so lovely! Fortunately, the company I work for organized a high society tea party PR event and I was asked to host it.
It was such an honor for me hosting the event since the guests were some of the country's elite. They all arrived in their luxury cars with designer bags on their arms. I honestly felt like I was in a Gossip Girl scene.
Even though it was a tea party, it was still a corporate event so I decided to wear this white smart casual dress so that I still look business appropriate. I did, however, wear a pink and gold belt to make my outfit a bit girly (and to cinch my waist). I also wore nude pumps for a feminine look.
I was also so thrilled that I got to work with a hosting legend in the Philippines, Mr. Johnny Litton! His PR company, Jayelles, was tapped to help organize the event.
Yes, there was a harpist.
In the tradition of an authentic afternoon tea, we were treated to an array of sandwiches and baked goods to go with our tea courtesy of
da.u.de tea lounge (pronounced as da-you-deh). Da.u.de is the first tea lounge in the Philippines and what's unique about it is that the food they serve are tea-infused.
Everything was absolutely delightful! There wasn't anything I tried that I didn't like. And the teas were some of the best I've ever tasted. We were served two kinds - first was a mix of white and green tea and the other one was oolong tea. I was surprised by how delicate the flavors were.
A productive workday, meeting new people, delicious food, and a warm drink -- that's definitely my cup of tea.
