Boyfriend Jeans + Leopard Sandals

I literally can't remember the last time I wore jeans (since I'm always in skirts and dresses), but lately I've been seeing some of my favorite bloggers wear ripped or boyfriend jeans. It looked really nice and relaxed on them so I thought why not unearth my own pair, and give it a go myself. I also got a cool pair of leopard sandals recently, which I though would go well with it.

High Neckline

Tank tops are pretty much all I've been wearing these days because of the scorching summer heat. To keep things a bit interesting, I've really been loving tops with high necklines recently. They fit higher around your neck, and cut lower around the arms. I feel like it's still very casual and comfortable, but has a bit more edge than your ordinary tank top.

Soft Side

When it comes to my personality, I can't really say that I'm a girly girl. However, there are days when I do like getting in touch with my feminine side.

An easy way to achieve a feminine look is to think light -- that goes for both color and material.

Aside from the usual pastel colors, beige and cream are perfect for achieving a soft, feminine look. Go for a monochromatic color scheme if you want to look more put together.

It was pretty hot that day so I wore a thin white top and paired it with a short, cream-colored skirt. Girly looks usually involve fabrics with movement. Imagine skirts that have a tendency to be blown by the wind (just make sure that actually doesn't happen). For my accessories, I basically kept my watch and bag coherent with my color scheme and wore simple, nude strappy heels.

At this day and age when it's easy for women to go for jeans as an everyday look, it's nice to channel your softer side once in a while.

Walking On Color

There are days when I don't really feel like getting all dressed up. I'd rather just wear a simple black dress or casual shorts and a tank top. An easy way to spruce up any dull outfit is to wear colorful shoes with it.

I was really looking for colorful shoes and I was lucky enough to find this pair at The Ramp Crossings in Quezon Avenue (above National Bookstore). I love how I can easily match this with so many different outfits since it has various colors. It's funny how I called this 'rainbow shoes' then my friend violently reacted, "Since when did the rainbow have the color pink in it?"

Aside from color, it also gives me a height boost while still being comfortable since it has a chunky heel. And the best part was that I this pair at 50% off!

The next time you find yourself wearing a plain ensemble, just slip on your colorful shoes and add some playfulness to your outfit!
