Wing Stop

When I was a kid, my family would always tease me that I might eventually grow wings because of the copious amounts of chicken I consume. I love fried chicken so much I could literally eat it for weeks on. While I now delight in a more varied array of food, my love for chicken hasn't changed. I still wouldn't mind growing wings from eating chicken, especially if it's from a place that proclaims themselves as The Wing Experts.

Wing Stop flew all the way from Dallas, Texas, and has finally landed in the Philippines. As the name suggests, it's a place where they take serving up delicious chicken wings very seriously. The ambiance is very casual so you definitely wouldn't feel awkward eating delicious finger food with your hands. They also have some really cool artwork on the walls, giving the place a hip, modern feel.

You order at the counter, and this may be a bit challenging if there are people behind you in a cue because it's just impossible to choose from all their mouth-watering flavors. I honestly wanted to try everything but the stomach can only handle so much. I guess that just gives me reason to go back for more wings.

Among all the flavors, what interested us the most was the Louisiana Rub (P180) because unlike the usual chicken wings which are drenched in sauce, this had a dry-rub. It's cajun and garlic with a little bit of spice. It actually sits in the middle of their spiciness spectrum so it's enjoyable whether you're into spicy food or not so much. I love how since it has a dry-rub, the skin remains so crispy, and the spices are very concentrated. The flavor really seeps into the moist meat of the chicken. I could honestly eat this all day!

For those of you who don't want to be bothered with the bones, they also have Chicken Tenders (P180). I personally prefer the wings because I always find meat on the bone more flavourful, but this was also very delicious. The tenders were actually bigger and meatier than the usual chicken tenders you'll find elsewhere, but were still tender and juicy. I love how it just has a thin breading because you can really taste the chicken meat, and it makes for a very crispy coating. We also had some Bleu Cheese and Honey Mustard dips which were both awesome. Chicken wings and bleu cheese are just the perfect pair!

For sides, we ordered their Seasoned Fries which are these delicious, thick-cut fries that go well with the chicken. I just found them to be a bit too salty for my taste, but a little shaking off of the salt, and they're all good. Martin also had some Chipotle Rice (P45) which has a smoky flavor, but still doesn't overpower the chicken.

Fly on over to Wing Stop, and enjoy some delicious chicken wings made by the experts!
