Most people, including myself, despise the thought of waking up early. I mean, who wouldn't want to sleep in especially when were all tired from work or school. However, if there's one thing that can get me out of bed, it's the thought of a delicious, hearty breakfast.
Early Bird Breakfast Club is an all-day breakfast place so you don't actually have to wake up early to enjoy their delicious breakfast fare, but I just love the feeling of kick-starting your day with some delicious food.
When we entered the restaurant, I immediately fell in love with the place. The pastel peachy pink paint, calligraphy on the walls, and garden-themed accents across the room just make you want to have brunch with your girlfriends there!
Newspapers are a staple morning ritual for a lot of people, and same goes for Early Bird. A difference, however, would be on what's printed in their paper. When you open it up, you're greeted by a full spread of scrumptious sweet and savory dishes. That's right, their menu is in newspaper form. How cool is that?
Trust me, you'll have a hard time picking what to order because everything just sounds so good but I went for what the waiters kept on recommending -- their Sunny Salpicao. It's a generous serving of tender, bite-sized pieces of chicken salpicao served with a sunny side up egg that's perfectly cooked so that the yolk is creamy enough to run down the sides of your garlic rice. The sauce has a good balance between sweet and savory, and is reduced to almost like a glaze, which adds a nice caramelization to the meat.
Martin had the Tenderloin Tapa which is beef tenderloin cooked in their signature sweet marinade topped with toasted garlic bits, served with a side of crisp vegetables, your choice of egg, and rice. I personally prefer my tapa to have more of a vinegar-garlic flavor, but I know a lot of people like their tapa sweet. If that's the case, then you will surely enjoy this dish. Martin liked it so much that he even ordered extra rice.
There are so many other dishes that I want to try at Early Bird Breakfast Club, so I might just have to go back and try their sweet dishes next time. With breakfast food as good as these, I certainly don't mind leaving my bed, and being an early bird.
