Product Review: Usana Essentials

Growing up, I never took daily vitamins religiously just because I felt like it wasn't really doing anything for me. My family always encouraged me to take vitamins to help me stay healthy despite long days and sleepless nights in school, but I usually don't feel any effects on me (either that or I have very high expectations when it comes to vitamins). Recently, I was given the opportunity to try the Usana Essentials, and it may have changed the way I feel about vitamins.

I was given two weeks supply of the Usana Essentials which consists of Chelated Mineral multi-mineral product and Mega Antioxidant vitamin and antioxidant supplement. Together, they provide a broad spectrum of vitamins and minerals and other plant nutrients which your body needs. They were also named "Best of the Best" and one of just four supplements to receive the highest, Gold Medal rating in Lyle MacWilliam's Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements, 4th Edition. 

So for two weeks, I drank one tablet of each a day. At first, I didn't feel much of a difference which made me think I was right about my original thoughts on taking vitamins. However, as I continued to take them daily, I started to feel its effects. I felt less tired during the day, I slept more soundly, I had improved bowel movement, and I had a bit more energy that usual. 

I told my friend who gave me the Essentials about its effects on me, and she said those were the expected results. The effects on me were actually quite subtle, and she said it means that my body is relatively healthy. So, yey for me!
