Good Burgers

Judging from my food posts on this blog, it would seem that my diet mainly consists of burgers, steaks, pasta, and cheese. Of course, that's not true. Yet here I am again with another burger post (c'mon, you know you enjoy food porn). But before you judge me, you should know that this burger is a good burger.

Good Burgers burgers aren't just deliciously good, but they are somehow good for your health (and waistline) as well. Unlike the traditional beef patty, you have a choice between chicken or veggie patty which is relatively healthier. Now, if you're someone who takes their burgers seriously, and thinks chicken or veggie patties aren't as good as beef ones, I am here to prove you wrong.

There are so many flavors to choose from. I may just have to make it my mission to try every single one. My boyfriend Martin and I tried their top three best sellers which are BLT, Bacon Mozza Melt, and Margherita Burger.

First, let's talk about the patty. We were only able to try the chicken patty because they ran out of the veggie one when we were there.  Every bite was a mouthful since the patty was so thick and juicy. I hate it when some patties are bland and they just rely on the sauce or toppings to add flavor, but this was not the case for this burger. The patty was already flavorful and well-seasoned on its own. It was also surprisingly meaty. There was definitely a lot of meat packed in that little thing.

Martin ordered the BLT (cover photo) in the size Best which we didn't know meant a double patty burger. The overwhelming size didn't seem to bother him though since he was able to finish it in minutes. Just goes to show how delicious it was. The BLT had cheese, mayo, bacon bits, lettuce, tomato, and onions. It's a heavy dish because of the double patty, bacon and cheese, but I really liked how the vegetables were a good contrast to that.

Don't you just love it when you bite into something with mozzarella and as you pull away from the food, the cheese forms a string? That pretty much sums up my experience with this Bacon Mozza Melt. I literally felt like I was eating a cheese pizza! It basically has bacon bits, mozzarella, and mayo. I don't like it when I'm eating a burger with bacon strips and whole bacon strips are pulled out of the burger with just your first bite. With Good Burgers, their bacon is in the form of bits which I think is a good idea for ensuring that every bite has bacon in it.

Before I took Martin to Good Burgers, I already sampled it myself one lunch time, and I had the Margherita Burger. It has roasted tomatoes, cheese, mozarella, and basil. Chicken, cheese, and basil -- literally me in a burger. I believe that one can never have too much cheese, and Good Burgers and I seem to think alike. Margherita burgers usually just have mozzarella cheese but this one also has cheddar cheese. I love how the cheddar melts into almost like a cheese sauce consistency, and adds a lot flavor to the burger while the mozzarella melts into an ooey, gooey consistency. And of course, it wouldn't be Margherita without the basil which added a nice freshness to the dish.

Okay, so it's not entirely healthy since we loaded our burgers with bacon and cheese but if you go for the simpler, vegetarian flavors then I guess it is healthier. One thing we noticed, though, was how light the burger was. They look heavy with all the toppings but we didn't have the stuffed, food coma feeling which is a good thing. It was filling without being too heavy, probably because the patty was made with lean chicken meat. Good Burgers aren't just good, they're great!
