Antiteasis: Books and Brews

One of my friends instagrammed a picture of an Antiteasis tea in a mason jar, and when I saw the picture, I just had to ask her where that place was. With so many tea places named after corny puns for the word "tea" (I even saw place named "Tea Ka Muna"), being able to think of such a witty name as Antiteasis seemed to be a good sign that this wasn't your ordinary tea place.

As the name suggests, Antiteasis: Books and Brews doesn't only serve tea, but also has tons of books on display for you to read while your chilling with your tea. There are also board games you can play if you're hanging out with friends. The seating is very casual since you have the option of sitting on the floor, surrounded by an eclectic mix of pillows to keep you comfy. I also love how they used tea cargo boxes as tables!

While we were looking up at the chalkboard menu thinking those were the only choices, we were handed an iPad which actually had their extensive tea menu. Seriously, there were almost two pages worth of tea on that thing! It was a bit overwhelming so I just went for their best-seller, Teekanne strawberry raspberry, and Martin had the Mesmer orange grape.

We spent our time looking at all the quirky knick knacks around the room while waiting for our tea. I love how artsy and homey the interiors are. It's both relaxing and stimulating, especially if you're trying to get your creative juices flowing.

It was so hot out so we decided to have our teas cold. I am in love with their mason jars! I know a lot of other places also serve drinks in jars, but I just love the font and style of the text. They don't serve in to-go containers because they believe that tea should be enjoyed sitting down. However, if you're really on a rush, you can bring your own tumbler, and they'd gladly fill it up for you.

More importantly, their teas are so good! They're made from actual tea bags so you know you're not being served some sugary tea concentrate. They simply brew the tea, and pour it over ice. I also love that they use Palawan honey (not sugar or sugar syrup) to sweeten the drinks. Not only is it healthier (and the more proper way to sweeten tea), it's also utilizing local products.

To go with our tea, we had their brownie and cinnamon mini donut which were just as good as their teas. Their mini donuts are baked, not fried, which makes it a bit healthier.

However, their Rum Raisin Crinkle has to be our favorite among the three. It's the first time I've tried this flavor of crinkle, and it was amazing! It was so moist and flavorful without being too sweet. You can really taste the rum, and I love biting the into the juicy raisins.

Antiteasis: Books and Brews is definitely the antithesis of mediocre and ordinary tea places!
