If you've read my recent blog post about Ramen Nagi (you can read it here), you know how I have expressed my genuine love for it. Their ramens are so incredibly good that I didn't even know how to begin to describe them. Which is why I was ecstatic when I got an invite to the opening of their 6th branch in Greenbelt 3.

Cafe Shibuya
Whenever I think of a cafe, what instantly comes to my mind is cake and coffee. Toast is something I normally classify as a breakfast food, so when we saw a cafe that specializes on toast as their primary dessert, we thought it was worth giving a shot.

Shrimp Bucket
I love seafood but I'm always discouraged to order it in restaurants because let's face it, there's no better way to eat them than with your hands -- not the most glamorous thing to do when you're surrounded by strangers who might be judging your table manners. I was a bit skeptical about eating in Shrimp Bucket when my friends recommended it precisely for that reason but upon seeing other guests diving right into bags of seafood, getting their hands dirty, I was all aboard.

Ramen Nagi
A couple of friends highly recommended that I try Ramen Nagi. I kept on thinking, how good could noodles be that they keep on raving about it? So one free afternoon, my boyfriend Martin and I decided to try it once and for all. After having a taste of their ramen, let's just say I almost wasn't able to put up this blog post. I had such a hard time describing it because it was so darn good.

Breakfast at Antonio's
When it comes to birthday celebrations, my family prefers to have a simple and intimate family meal rather than throw a big party. So when my Dad recently celebrated his birthday, we decided to head up to Tagaytay for a much needed change in scenery and a lovely brunch at Breakfast at Antonio's.

Quezon City Food Festival
I can't believe it's already been more than a month since my last blog entry. It just goes to show how busy I've been lately. My blog obviously needed some loving, and what better way to get me back on the blogging wagon than to overwhelm my senses with two kilometers worth of food at Maginhawa Street during the Quezon City Food Festival.

Den in the Kitchen: Steak ala Pobre
Everyone has their own version of how they make steak ala pobre, but an "ala pobre" dish is basically meat that's cooked with lots of garlic and gravy. Whenever my family cooks steak at home, this is how we make it. It's so easy to make but you won't believe how tasty and flavorful it turns out to be! Now, this of course, is unlike the expensive Grade A steaks that you get in a fine dining restaurant, but it's perfect if you want to prepare something special for a relaxed meal at home.

The Big Appetite
Regular readers of my blog know that I love a good burger. As much as I love beef burgers, chicken burgers also have a very special place in my heart considering my love for chicken probably surpasses my affection for any other food. If you're like me who has a big appetite for chicken, there's a new place that will surely make you happy.

Coffee Splurge
One of the things I love about small towns is the fact that everyone seems to know each other. Imagine walking into a coffee shop, bumping into your classmate or neighbor, and having a friendly chat with them. It's something we seldom experience in the city, but in quaint towns such as Cardona, Rizal, the neighborhood cafe feel is still very much alive.

Den in the Kitchen: Penne al Pesto
My boyfriend, Martin, recently came over to our house, and I thought it would be nice to cook him some lunch. As they say, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. He's not a big fan of meat so I had to think of a vegetarian dish. Since I love pesto, I cooked some Penne al Pesto. He doesn't like meat, I like pesto, it's a win-win situation.

Simplé Lang
It's always fun trying out unique dishes, but there will always be days when we just want to enjoy familiar Filipino dishes. Well, you don't actually have to choose one or the other because Simplé Lang offers well-loved Filipino dishes that are presented in a way that will still excite the adventurous eater in you.

Product Review: Aura Skin Nutrition System
The girly girl in me loves discovering new beauty products, and I recently got a chance to try out a couple of products from the Aura Skin Nutrition System. From a product line for complete face care to various soaps (they're famous for their stem cell soap), there's something to suit everyone's needs, but what got my interest were their Radiant White and Honey Butter Soap.

Den in the Kitchen: Using my French Press
I'm very passionate about drinking coffee. I honestly couldn't last a day without drinking at least a cup. As much as I appreciate the craft of making really good coffee, I am guilty of drinking instant coffee (there are good ones out in the market) on most days just because it's so much easier to make. While we do have a coffee maker, I'm usually (try all the time) too lazy to use it. However, ever since I got myself a French Press, I've been finding it so much easier to enjoy brewed coffee. It's so simple to use and clean, and it's not even that expensive.

Food Find: BeOPA at Quezon City Memorial Circle
My family seems to have made it a ritual to go to the Quezon City Memorial Circle on weekends. And no, it's not to have a cliche family picnic nor to rent one of those cheesy swan paddle boats. We go there for the incredibly fresh Benguet organic vegetables!

My Youtube Channel!
Hello everyone! I'm so excited to announce that I've finally started my own Youtube channel! After a almost a year of having a blast with my food blog, I thought it will be more fun to take you guys along with me to some of my food adventures! My channel is mainly going to feature vlogs where I try out different food places.

Antiteasis: Books and Brews Part II
When I love a certain restaurant or food place, I definitely come back to it. One of those places for me has to be Antiteasis Books & Brews. My boyfriend, Martin, and I love it so much that we've gone back there several times, and even brought family and friends along. Since my first post on Antiteasis was a big hit with you guys (you can read it here), I thought I'd do another one and share a couple of new drinks I've tried and liked.

Product Review: Usana Essentials
Growing up, I never took daily vitamins religiously just because I felt like it wasn't really doing anything for me. My family always encouraged me to take vitamins to help me stay healthy despite long days and sleepless nights in school, but I usually don't feel any effects on me (either that or I have very high expectations when it comes to vitamins). Recently, I was given the opportunity to try the Usana Essentials, and it may have changed the way I feel about vitamins.

Bite Size: Tea Rock Cafe's Beef Noodle Soup
It's very hard for me to resist a big bowl of noodles. So much so that even though I was technically at a milk tea place, I still ordered beef noodles (Seriously, who orders noodles at a tea place?). Anyway, lucky for me, the Beef Noodle Soup at Tea Rock Cafe was surprisingly really good!

Den in the Kitchen: Strawberry Mango Iced Tea
I've talked about many times in my blog entries that I don't drink powdered iced teas and juices anymore because simply put, sugar is just bad for you. However, that doesn't mean that I don't crave for a refreshing iced tea drink once in a while. My solution has been making my own iced tea at home from tea bags! It's easy to make, cheaper and a lot healthier than iced teas they usually serve in restaurants!

Señor Pollo
I've heard a lot of raves about the Latin restaurant, El Chupacabra, and I've always wanted to try it but I just don't find myself in Makati very often. When I found out that the guys behind it opened a Latin restaurant in Tomas Morato, I couldn't be more thrilled since that area is very accessible to me. If your idea of Latin cuisine is simply nachos or hard shell tacos topped with ground beef and loads of commercial melted cheddar cheese, then you better hit this place up and get things straight.

Bite Size: Pho Hoa's Flank,Tendon and Meatballs Pho
Gray skies and rain showers seem to be making more appearances these days as we enter the rainy season, and one of my favorite comfort food during rainy days is a big, steaming bowl of noodles. With so many different versions of noodle dishes (ramen, laksa, etc.), my all-time favorite has to be Pho which is Vietnamese Noodle Soup.

Wing Stop
When I was a kid, my family would always tease me that I might eventually grow wings because of the copious amounts of chicken I consume. I love fried chicken so much I could literally eat it for weeks on. While I now delight in a more varied array of food, my love for chicken hasn't changed. I still wouldn't mind growing wings from eating chicken, especially if it's from a place that proclaims themselves as The Wing Experts.

Den in the Kitchen: Homemade Potato Chips
One night, my Dad cooked some fried chicken, and I thought of this naughty idea of cooking up some potato chips in the same oil where the chicken was fried for the extra flavor. Now, I know that's not healthy at all but we're all entitled to a little treat once in a while.

Craft Coffee Revolution
For some, coffee is simply a caffeine source for early mornings or all-nighters. For me, it's love. Fortunately, more and more coffee shops are opening up, and are treating coffee not just a beverage, but as a craft.

Den in the Kitchen: Kimchi Fried Rice
You all know I love to eat, but cooking is something I haven't done in a while. I used to love to cook, but busy schedules somehow got in the way of me being in the kitchen. Lately, I've fallen back in love with cooking, and I thought I'd start sharing with you some simple recipes you can try at home in a blog series I'm gonna call "Den in the Kitchen." My nickname is Den, I cook in the kitchen, it rhymes, so why not call it that? Anyway, I saw some leftover kimchi in our fridge so I thought of making some Kimchi Fried Rice!

Teppanyaki Brothers
It's very common to find Teppanyaki dishes in Japanese restaurants, but having it cooked right in front of your very eyes is something you don't see everyday (pun intended). I was lucky enough to try out the newest restaurant addition to the SM Aura Food on Four scene even before it opened, and let me tell you, it's definitely a feast for the senses.

Shi Lin
The first time I heard of Xiao Long Bao, I couldn't wrap my head around it. How can you put broth inside a dumpling? Wouldn't it spill? How do you eat it? After trying some Xiao Long Bao a couple of times, I now understand not only its anatomy, but also why people love it. I recently got to have some again at Shi Lin and it was such an exciting moment for me!

Bite Size: Bread Monster's Cookie S'mores
I'm usually not attracted to cookies, but if you tell me they have marshmallows in them, that's a different story. While we were in the mall, my sister was craving for cookies so we stopped by Bread Monster. We were given a free taste of their best-seller, Cookie S'mores, and one bite was all it took for me to know why Cookie Monster feels the way he does around cookies.

Bayani Brew
Whenever I used to eat out before, my drink of choice would always be iced tea. However, after realizing that most iced teas served in restaurants just come from powder or concentrate mixes which are loaded with sugar, I stopped drinking them (you should too). Since I don't have these sugary drinks anymore, I'm always interested to find delicious but healthy drink alternatives, and I found one that even makes you a hero when you drink it.

Earth Kitchen
My boyfriend, Martin, and I love to eat out, and we've shared a lot of great meals together, but our dinner at Earth Kitchen has to be one of those experiences where we can say we ate well. We had absolutely amazing food that's not only healthy, but helps provide sustainable livelihood for farmers and indigenous communities as well (and y'all know how much I love these kinds of restaurants).

Boyfriend Jeans + Leopard Sandals
I literally can't remember the last time I wore jeans (since I'm always in skirts and dresses), but lately I've been seeing some of my favorite bloggers wear ripped or boyfriend jeans. It looked really nice and relaxed on them so I thought why not unearth my own pair, and give it a go myself. I also got a cool pair of leopard sandals recently, which I though would go well with it.

Enchanted Farm Cafe Part II
With so many restaurants to try, I usually opt to try something new than go back to a restaurant I've already eaten at. After trying Enchanted Farm Cafe once, I recently went back and actually ate there two days in a row to try the other dished I haven't had yet. That should give you an idea on how much I genuinely love the place! The dishes I included here are just ones I haven't blogged about before (I didn't include the ones I've already written about). If you're curious about their other delicious dishes that I've already tried, go check out my first Enchanted Farm Cafe post (which you can read here).

Maybelline Lip Polish
Ladies, if you’ve ever worn lip gloss and had your hair sticking to your lips whenever the wind blows, chances are you’d understand why I’m not a big fan of the product. I just really don’t like how some lip glosses are so sticky. Recently, I bought a lip gloss that I just couldn’t stop wearing. Not only is it not sticky at all, it might be one of the best lip glosses ever.

Swensen's Ice Cream
On days when you feel like you're practically melting from the summer heat, a tall glass of ice cream is in order to cool you down.

High Neckline
Tank tops are pretty much all I've been wearing these days because of the scorching summer heat. To keep things a bit interesting, I've really been loving tops with high necklines recently. They fit higher around your neck, and cut lower around the arms. I feel like it's still very casual and comfortable, but has a bit more edge than your ordinary tank top.

Antiteasis: Books and Brews
One of my friends instagrammed a picture of an Antiteasis tea in a mason jar, and when I saw the picture, I just had to ask her where that place was. With so many tea places named after corny puns for the word "tea" (I even saw place named "Tea Ka Muna"), being able to think of such a witty name as Antiteasis seemed to be a good sign that this wasn't your ordinary tea place.

Robinsons Magnolia City Food Picks
I’m a big fan of hole-in-the-wall kind of restaurants that serve straight up delicious food when it comes to eating out. I’ve had this idea that you can’t really find unique restaurants in malls because of its commercial nature. However, that mindset of mine seemed to have changed recently. Last Tuesday, I got to join the Robinsons Magnolia City Food Picks together with other bloggers where we got to sample the unique dining spots the Magnolia Mall has to offer. The tour was organized with the help of the man behind the Mercato Centrale Group, and well-known food blogger, RJ Ledesma and Anton Diaz, respectively.

Big Better Burgers
I've done a lot of burger posts on this blog, but for some reason, I haven't blogged about my favorite go-to burger. A lot of the burger joints I've blogged about are ones I've tried out of curiosity, but there's one that I've literally been eating at at least once a week because it's so darn good (and because of its proximity to my workplace)! I'm talking about Big Better Burgers.

Red Onion Cafe
I’ve had a lot of Chinese food in my life, but Taiwanese, not so much.
Xiao Long Bao and milk tea are basically what’s at the top of my head when I
think of Taiwanese food. The universe probably thought it was about time that I
get educated about the wonderful world of Taiwanese cuisine because I was
recently invited to a bloggers event where we got to sample Red Onion Cafe’s
specialty Taiwanese dishes. We were joined by our gracious host, Mark, co-owner
of Red Onion Cafe.

Summer Cheeks
While a lot of people are already planning their beach
getaway this summer (or have already gone to), I am unfortunately stuck here in
the city. However, just because I can’t go to the beach doesn’t mean I can’t
have a bronzed summer look. I already blogged about my staple cheek products
(which you can read here) but I’ve recently switched my dark pink and matte
bronzer for something more fun.

The Body Shop Shower Gels
Summer is also no doubt upon us here in the Philippines. One of the ways I like to beat the heat is taking a bath with fresh smelling shower gels. The heat tends to make you all sweaty and sticky which is why I really like how shower gels feel lighter on the skin than soaps. Light, fruity scents are also perfect during summer because they're so refreshing! My current favorites are The Body Shop shower gels in Olive and Sweet Lemon.
